Jade Hiramoto, MD Named President-Elect of UCSF Medical Staff
Jade Hiramoto, MD, Professor of Surgery in the UCSF Division of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, has been named President-Elect of the UCSF Medical Staff. The appointment began on July 1, 2020 and will continue for the next two years.
In this role, Dr. Hiramoto will serve as Chair of the Credentials Committee, as well as member of the Executive Medical Board (EMB) and Governance Advisory Council (GAC). Beginning in July 2022, Dr. Hiramoto will become President of the Medical Staff where she will Chair the EMB, attend the GAC and a number of various committee meetings across the medical center.
Dr. Hiramoto commented with some insight into her goals for her new appointment:
“It’s truly a privilege to be elected to this position, and I plan to be an advocate for a diverse medical staff, bring a fair and balanced perspective, and help to maintain a positive and collaborative environment. During these critical and evolving times, I am committed to maintaining UCSF’s reputation as an outstanding clinical enterprise dedicated to patient care, education, and research.”
Dr. Hiramoto will continue to serve as the immediate Past-President when her tenure as Medical Staff President comes to an end in July 2024. From 2024-2026, her duties will involve Chairing the Bylaws Committee and attending EMB and GAC meetings.
