Michael Conte, MD receives Distinguished Achievement Award from the American Heart Association Council on Peripheral Vascular Disease
Michael Conte, Professor and Chief of the UCSF Division of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, has recently received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the American Heart Association Council on Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD). PVD Council Chair Naomi Hamburg, MD presented the award to Dr. Conte at the AHA Scientific Sessions meeting held in Philadelphia, PA on November 16, 2019. The PVD Council has released the following statement regarding Dr. Conte's selection for the award:
Dr. Conte became just the third recipient of this award from the PVD Council, recognizing his long commitment and leadership roles. Dr. Conte has previously served as PVD Council Chair, member of the AHA’s national Scientific Advisory and Coordinating Committee, on the Scientific Sessions and ATVB/PVD planning committees and in the 2015 AHA Vascular Disease Thought Leaders’ Summit. Dr. Conte is Professor and Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, and Co-Director of the Heart and Vascular Center, at the University of California, San Francisco. A career surgeon-scientist and advocate for vascular health, Dr. Conte has worked to promote the importance of vascular disease within the AHA for more than two decades.
