Sandy Feng, MD, PhD Recipient of 2020 AST Clinical Science Established Investigator Award

Sandy Feng, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Surgery, has been named the 2020 recipient of the Clinical Science Established Investigator Award from the American Society of Transplantation (AST). The award is made to a senior clinical scientist who has made significant contributions to the field of transplantation and is recognized as an expert.

Dr. Feng is a surgeon-scientist with a stellar record of clinical research and outreach to the community. She has been a principal investigator on multiple U01 clinical trials supported by grants totaling more than $25M in federal funding. She has also served as first author on numerous peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals including Nature, JAMA, and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Feng has been honored with numerous invited distinguished lectureships and visiting professorships, including the Thomas E. Starzl Lecture State of the Art Lectureship, American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, and the Paul Russell Visiting Professorship at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Feng was also appointed Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Transplantation effective August 1, 2020, and currently serves on the editorial board of the New England Journal of Medicine.
