UCSF School of Medicine Ranks #2 for Surgical Education & Training

We are excited to share that the UCSF School of Medicine (SOM) is ranked second nationally in surgical education & training in the most recent U.S. News and World Report rankings for the academic year 2023-24. This is national acknowledgment of the dedication of the UCSF SOM and, in particular, our Department of Surgery faculty, residents, fellows, and staff, all of whom are committed to training future physicians in the treatment of the surgical patient and surgical disease. We would like to thank and congratulate all of you for your continued leadership in training the next generation of physicians and surgical researchers, educators, and clinicians.

UCSF SOM was also recognized as one of the top five Medical Schools nationally for training physicians in inquiry and research and among the top 10 most diverse medical schools, an essential honor as represented by UCSF PRIDE values.
