Dr. Jay Menaker to Join Department of Surgery Faculty at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital
We are pleased to announce that Jay Menaker, MD will be joining the faculty at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) on September 1st, providing care to patients in the ICU at the UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights, and in the Emergency Department at ZSFG. Dr. Menaker will serve as the Physician Director for Quality Management at ZSFG for the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Menaker earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his Medical Degree from Jefferson Medical College. He completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center, and his Trauma/Critical Care fellowship at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Menaker joined the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he is currently a Professor. In Baltimore, he serves as medical director of the lung rescue unit and the critical care resuscitation unit. He is also Director of the Emergency Medicine Critical Care Fellowship, Chair of the Clinical Quality/Performance Improvement Committee, and Physician Director of Quality Management at Shock Trauma.
Dr. Menaker is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Emergency Physicians, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization.
