Biography
Laura Ellis gained experience as a clinical nurse at New York Presbyterian Hospital in a cardiothoracic step down unit with heart failure, cardiac, thoracic, cardiothoracic surgery, and vascular surgery patients. After graduating from Columbia University School of Nursing as an NP, she managed vascular patients at Mount Sinai Hospital for three years before joining the Vascular Surgery team here at UCSF. One of the reasons Laura enjoys working at UCSF is that she is able to rotate between the inpatient and outpatient setting giving her a comprehensive view of the patient experience in the Vascular Surgery Division and allowing for more complete care of the patient.
